CLEMSON, S.C. – The College of Charleston women's tennis team (0-3) fell 7-0 to #21 Clemson (8-2) at the Duckworth Family Tennis Center on Saturday afternoon.
"Clemson was the better team," head coach Angelo Anastopoulo said. "We played well at times, but couldn't put together a long enough stretch of consistent tennis to win more sets and matches. That will come with better coaching and more experience."
Clemson took a 1-0 lead after winning courts two and three in doubles. In singles, the Tigers quickly clinched the match with two set wins on courts five, four and three.
From there, Clemson increased its advantage to six with straight set wins on courts six and two before completing the sweep with a win on court one via a third set tiebreak.
DOUBLES RESULTS
SINGLES RESULTS
UP NEXT – The Cougars will be back in action on Wednesday, February 18 for a matchup at Presbyterian. First serve set for 2 p.m.
