Counter Earns Third CAA Player of the Week Honor

RICHMOND, Va. - College of Charleston graduate student Jlynn Counter was named the CAA Co-Player of the Week following his performances in wins over Hofstra and Northeastern. It is the third weekly honor for Counter so far this season.
Counter averaged 25.0 ppg, 6.5 rpg and 8.0 apg in the Cougars' 2-0 week. The graduate guard posted back-to-back double-doubles, starting with 22 points, 10 rebounds and five assists in a 66-64 road win over Hofstra, including 20 of his points coming in the second half.
He followed up with 28 points, a career-high 11 assists, and three rebounds in an 89-84 victory at Northeastern. The Oklahoma City, Okla., native's 11 assists were tied for third-most in a single game in program history. Charleston ended the game with the Huskies on a 13-2 run, with all 13 points belonging to Counter to seal the victory.
The Cougars return to action at home on Thursday, February 5 vs. North Carolina A&T. Action is set for 7:00 p.m. at TD Arena.
