RICHMOND, Va. – Taryn Barbot was named the Coastal Athletic Association Co-Player of the Week after a dominant performance in the Cougars' 77-69 win at Elon on Friday night.
In the lone game of the week for the Cougars, the junior guard played all 40 minutes and poured in a game-high 25 points as she hit the 20-point mark for the 10th time this season. The Floral Park, N.Y. native also tied her career-high with six steals, added eight rebounds, dished out seven assists and went 11-for-12 from the charity stripe against the Phoenix.
This is Barbot's eighth time being named the CAA Player of the Week, and her fourth time earning the honor this season. She also earned the honor four times last year and garnered the 2024-25 Player of the Year award. Coming into the 2025-26 season, Barbot earned the Preseason CAA Player of the Year award, and was named to the Becky Hammon Mid-Major Player of the Year Watch List.
Additionally, she's scored 1,442 points as a Cougar and is 12th on the Charleston's all-time scoring list. She's also just the seventh Cougar in program history to score over 1,000 points and grab over 500 rebounds.
Charleston will head to Buies Creek, N.C. for a matchup at Campbell on Tuesday, February 3. Tip-off is set for 5 p.m., the game will be streamed on FloCollege and a link to the stream as well as live stats can be found on the women's basketball schedule page at cofcsports.com.
