Track and Field Opens Outdoor Season at Myrtle Beach Collegiate Challenge

MRYTLE BEACH, S.C. – The College of Charleston track and field team is set to compete in the Myrtle Beach Collegiate Challenge Friday, March 13 and Saturday, March 14.
The Cougars will compete 15 athletes across seven events Friday and Saturday.
Friday, Charleston will compete in the long jump, pole vault and 5000m.
Laurie Ware and Allie Sanfelippo will compete in the pole vault at 11:30 a.m. The pair most recently competed in the Tryon Mid-Winter invite placing third and fourth jumping 3.50m and 3.35m respectively.
Lydia Metz will make her outdoor track debut in the 5000m at 4:20 p.m. In the fall, Metz ran a personal record of 18:49.03 in the 5k at the Chanticleer Challenge.
Saturday, Charleston will race in the 1500m, 400m, 800m and 200m.
Riley Fisher will compete in the 200m dash along with Catie O'Neil and Trinity Jones. Fisher most recently ran a time of 25.78 in the 200m dash at the CAA Indoor Championships February 22.
