CHARLESTON, S.C. - The College of Charleston beach volleyball team will travel to Columbia for the Carolina Challenge hosted by South Carolina March 13-14.
The Cougars will open the tournament on March 13 vs. Jacksonville and No. 20 South Carolina before taking on RV Boise State and UNCW on March 14.
This will be the second meeting of the season between Charleston and Jacksonville. The Dolphins won the opening match 4-1 on February 28 in DeLand, Florida. The 3s pair of Sophie Sageer and Madison Loving secured the lone dual win for the Cougars.
The Cougars and Gamecocks will meet for the 21st time in program history. The last time Charleston beat South Carolina was when the Gamecocks were ranked No. 11 in the country in 2019.
Charleston will play new and familiar foes on Saturday, starting with the program's first ever meeting with Boise State before facing UNCW for the third time this season and 35th time in program history. The Seahawks won both matches 4-1 earlier this season in Wilmington. Ella Duffner and Alivia Newberg won both duals for Charleston on court 3 in the losses.
