Duffner Earns 50th Career Win at South Carolina Derby

CHARLESTON, S.C. - College of Charleston senior Ella Duffner earned her 50th career win with partner Alivia Newberg in Charleston's 5-0 win at the South Carolina Derby hosted by the Cougars.
Duffner and Newberg earned the victory at the 2s in a three set thriller. Paige Clark and Cassie Thayse also won in three sets at the 1s to cap off the Cougar win.
Charleston honored seniors Duffner, Newbery, Clark, Thayse and Elizabeth Curry on Saturday as a part of senior day celebrations.
The Cougars went 1-3 on the weekend, falling 1-4 to Coastal Carolina and UNCW and 0-5 to Tampa.
Charleston is back in action March 27-28 at the Sun Belt Midseason Tournament. The Cougars will face Southern Miss and Mercer on March 27 before taking on Georgia State and ULM on March 28.
