CHARLESTON, S.C. - The College of Charleston beach volleyball team will travel to compete in the Sun Belt Midseason this week, taking on Southern Miss, Mercer, ULM, and Georgia State this weekend.
The Cougars will open the tournament on March 27 vs Southern Miss. and Mercer in Macon, Ga., before taking on ULM and Georgia State on March 28 in Atlanta, Ga.
Charleston has found recent success in the all-time series vs. Mercer and has split close matchups with ULM in recent years, while continuing to push both Southern Miss (2-3) and Georgia State (2-14) in competitive duals, entering the tournament with a 5-13 overall record.
Charleston will face Mercer for the second time this season after a narrow 3-2 loss on February 27 in Deland, Fla.
The Cougars will also take on Southern Miss, another opponent Charleston has faced in tournament play in recent seasons. The most recent meeting came in 2025, when Southern Miss narrowly defeated Charleston 2-3 in a closely contested dual.
This will be the sixth meeting in program history between Charleston and ULM, with many matchups coming down to the final point. The Cougars have both won and lost tight 3-2 decisions, including a 3-2 win in 2024.
The weekend will conclude against Georgia State for the 18th meeting in program history with the Panthers.
The Cougars most recently competed at home hosting the South Carolina Derby. Charleston went 1-4 on the weekend securing the sweep against Erkine.
