
Cougars Visit Coastal Carolina; Host South Carolina State

CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Charleston women's tennis team is set to visit Coastal Carolina on Wednesday before hosting South Carolina State on Thursday afternoon.
"We have a couple of tough non-conference matches as we begin to close out the regular season," Head Coach Angelo Anastopoulo said. "Coastal Carolina is always tricky to play at their place, and it will be a quick turnaround to face the six-time defending MEAC champions South Carolina State Lady Bulldogs on Thursday. We're ready for the busy week."

MATCHUP HISTORY VS. COASTAL CAROLINA — Charleston is 13-6 all-time against Coastal Carolina, but the Chanticleers defeated the Cougars 5-2 at the Turner Tennis Center last spring. Prior to last season, Charleston won the previous three matches against Coastal Carolina.
SCOUTING THE CHANTICLEERS — The Chanticleers are 12-4 on the season, and are 6-2 at home this year. Coastal Carolina is 3-0 against CAA teams with a pair of victories over Campbell and win over UNCW during the 2026 spring campaign.
MATCHUP HISTORY VS. SOUTH CAROLINA STATE — CofC is 21-1 all-time against South Carolina State, but the Lady Bulldogs earned their lone win against the Cougars last spring.
SCOUTING THE LADY BULLDOGS — The Lady Bulldogs have won six straight MEAC Tournament titles. South Carolina State is 2-10 this season and has earned wins over Queens and Coppin State.
AWARDS – The Cougars have earned two Coastal Athletic Association Doubles Team of the Week awards this season. Most recently, Oziera Ahmad and Riley Trinkle earned the honor on March 24 after going 3-0 on the No. 2 court and helping Charleston earn two conference wins. Sia Cariov and Francesca Salvato earned the award on March 10 after winning on court one and helping Charleston earn the critical doubles point in the Cougars 4-3 victory over the Buffalo Bulls on Friday.
LAST TIME OUT – The College of Charleston women's tennis team earned two victories at the Turner Tennis Center last Wednesday afternoon. The Cougars first grinded out a 4-2 victory over Stetson before sweeping Randolph-Macon.
UP NEXT – CofC will close out the regular season with a home CAA match against UNCW on Saturday, April 11. First serve is set for 10 a.m. Saturday will also be senior day, and Jaiden McKee and Francesca Salvato will be honored.
