
Crismon Wins 5000m at East Coast Relays

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Charleston track and field competed at the East Coast Relays May 1 and 2 for the final meet of the season before CAA Championships.
Charleston had seven additions to the record book from the weekend.
Senior Cayden Crismon won the 5000m Friday evening with a new personal best time of 17:14.90. Her time puts her third in program history in the event.
In the 1500m, sophomore Abby Mogg and freshman Gail Vaikutis placed eighth and ninth, respectively. Mogg ran a personal best of 4:29.25 for a program fifth best. Vaikutis trailed with a new personal best of 4:30.09.
Mogg also ran the 800m and placed 12th with a time of 2:10.80. Her efforts place her third all-time in the program record book. Katie O'Toole also competed in the event and ran a new personal best of 2:13.96.
Trinity Jones represented Charleston in the 200m dash and ran a new program second-best time of 24.62. Jones ran the 400m dash as well in a time of 55.94.
For the field events, Boston Stringer cleared a new personal best of 3.80m in the pole vault. Stringer's mark ties for fourth in program history. Elaine Zhai also cleared 3.80m tying her personal best and placing seventh.
Tori-Ann Anderson placed third in the high jump marking 1.73m. Kinsley Allen placed eighth in the high jump clearing 1.63m.
Charleston will next compete May 15-16 at the CAA Championships at Elon.
