
Wiggans Announces Williams as Head of Data Analytics

CHARLESTON, S.C. – College of Charleston men's soccer head coach Keith Wiggans announced the hiring of Anissa Williams as the Head of Data Analytics on Tuesday morning.
"I am super excited to add Anissa to our staff," said Wiggans. "Through her knowledge and capabilities in data analytics, she will help us identify trends, optimize player development and prepare for opponents and ultimately gain a competitive edge. She will be a huge asset to our program."
Anissa Williams will serve as the Head of Data Analytics for the College of Charleston men's soccer program, where she integrates data from multiple performance and data platforms to build analytical tools, player profiles and reporting for the coaching staff. Her work includes developing metrics to evaluate team and individual performance, creating data-driven scouting and match reports, and building systems that allow the staff to track trends throughout the season.
"I'm thrilled to join the College of Charleston men's soccer staff and contribute to a program with such a strong culture and competitive vision," said Williams. "I'm excited to use data and technology to support the coaching staff, help our players develop and find new ways to enhance the team's performance. It's a unique opportunity to combine my professional background with my passion for sports, and I'm grateful to be part of the program."
Williams is completing her Master of Science in Data Science and Analytics at the College of Charleston, where her graduate work focuses on applied artificial intelligence, machine learning and data systems. She also serves as a graduate researcher in Applied AI and Data Systems, with research centered on the use of generative AI and intelligent systems in education and decision support.
Williams brings a background in software engineering and technology leadership to Charleston's soccer program, combining software development, data science and sports analytics to build scalable tools that support coaching, player development and data-informed decision-making.
A lifelong sports fan, Williams enjoys applying her passion for athletics, technology and data to help the Cougars make smarter, more informed decisions on and off the field.
