Women's Golf Begins 2026-27 Season at Quail Hollow

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The defending CAA Champion College of Charleston women's golf team will tee off the 2026-27 season on Monday, August 24 at the Truist Access, Opportunity & Development Summit Summit at the prestigious Quail Hollow. Monday will also mark the start of Jamie Futrell's 30th season at the helm of the program.
Charleston will join host school Charlotte, App State, Winthrop, North Carolina A&T, and Gardner-Webb at the single-day event. The Cougars enter as the highest ranked team in the field according to Clippd at 55th in the country.
The Cougars are coming off the program's 12th NCAA regional appearance after winning a conference record seventh CAA Championship in April. Charleston ended the campaign with a tenth-place finish at the NCAA Louisville Regional.
Futrell returns five players from last season's squad including CAA Player of the Year Molly Hardwick and CAA Rookie of the Year Carys Fennessy. Emilie von Finkcenstein, Emilia von Glahn and Taylor Sieg also return in addition to newcomers Sophie Bingel, Tori Robinson, and Jia Kataria. Bingel and Robinson will make their collegiate debut's in the lineup at Quail Hollow.
Quail Hollow has hosted two PGA Championships, in 2017 and 2025, the 2022 Presidents Cup and the 2026 Truist Championship. Notable winners at the course include Tiger Woods, Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy.
