Women's Golf Starts Season with Win at Quail Hollow

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The College of Charleston women's golf team won the AOD Summit at the prestigious Quail Hollow CC to start the 2026-27 season.
The Cougars secured an eight stroke victory over second place Charlotte. App State, Winthrop, Gardner-Webb, and North Carolina A&T rounded out the field. The win marks the 45th career head coaching victory for Jamie Futrell to start his 30th season leading the program.
"What a great way to start the season! The team will always be able to say they won a championship at Quail Hollow. Such a special place and such a special win," said Futrell.
All five Cougars in the lineup finished in the top ten, led by Molly Hardwick at T2 (+2). The senior sank five birdies over two rounds. Sophie Bingel and Tori Robinson made their collegiate debuts at Quail Hollow, finishing T5 (+4) and T9 (+7) respectively.
Charleston returns to action on September 7 when the program hosts the annual Cougar Classic at Yeamans Hall Club.
