NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The College of Charleston volleyball team starts its 2026 season Aug 28-30. CofC will play at Vanderbilt Friday before facing Lipscomb Saturday and Memphis Sunday at Lipscomb. Friday's match will be broadcast on SECN+ while the final two games are set to stream live on ESPN+.

OPENING SERVE:
- Charleston went 18-10 in 2025 and posted a 12-4 record in the CAA.
- The Cougars welcome back 12 returners to the team, including 2025 CAA Rookie of the Year Caroline Noonan.
- Seven players will don Maroon and Gold for the first time, highlighted by five freshmen incomers.
- Head coach Jason Kepner begins his 20th season with the Cougars and has an overall record of 387-201.
- Charleston is 24-11 in season openers since moving to Division I in 1991 and are 12-7 under Kepner.
- The Cougars will begin the season on the road for the second time in the last three seasons. The last time CofC has done that was in 2013 at Georgia Tech and 2015 at Wisconsin.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS:
- Vanderbilt enters its second season as a Division I program and went 9-18 overall and 3-12 in the SEC. Charleston senior Lainee Mack will face her sister, Hailee, for the first time Friday.
- Lipscomb posted a 14-13 mark and 10-6 record in the ASUN in 2025. Charleston incoming senior Gabby Tuiaana and Central Arkansas knocked off the Bisons in the ASUN Quarterfinals in straight sets.
- Memphis went 11-20 overall and 2-14 in the American last year. Outside hitter Amanda Hardt was named Preseason All-Conference for the Tigers.
SERIES HISTORY:
- The Cougars play Vanderbilt and Lipscomb for the first time in program history this weekend.
- Charleston has previously played Memphis twice at home, holding a 1-1 record versus the Tigers. Memphis swept the first meeting on Sept. 9, 2000, before the Cougars won in four sets on Sept. 1, 2012.
