FRANKLIN, Tenn. – The College of Charleston women's golf team returns to competition September 18-20 at the Mason Rudolph Invitational hosted by Vanderbilt at the Vanderbilt Legends Course.
The Cougars are joined in the field by host Vanderbilt, along with Purdue, Georgia Southern, Western Kentucky, Arizona State, Mississippi State, Northwestern, Clemson, Louisville, Florida, Long Beach State, Florida Atlantic, Middle Tennessee, and North Carolina.
Charleston is coming off a 12th place finish out of 18 teams at the Cougar Classic, beating out five Power 4 programs. Charleston played their top team round to conclude the tournament with an even par team performance, one of eight teams in the field to finish the day under par. The field featured nine of the pre-season top 26 teams in the country. Florida won the team title at 16-under followed by runner-up Tennessee at 6-under.Â
Molly Hardwick led the College of Charleston women's golf team with a bogey-free final round to finish T9 (-2)Â at the Cougar Classic. The senior sank three birdies in the final round for a 3-under, 68 round and a top ten individual finish.
Head coach Jamie Futrell's program won their opening tournament of the season  an eight-stroke victory over second place Charlotte at the AOD Summit at Quail Hollow. The win marked the 45th career head coaching victory for Jamie Futrell to start his 30th season leading the program.Â
Last season, the Cougars finished in eight place out of 16 teams at the Mason Rudolph Invitational. Hardwick led Charleston with a T9 (-2) finish at the Vanderbilt Legends Course.
