
Cougars Begin Conference Play at Elon

ELON, N.C. – College of Charleston volleyball kicks off Coastal Athletic Association play Sept. 19-20 on the road at Elon. Serve times from the Schar Center are scheduled for 8 p.m. and 3 p.m. Sunday's match will broadcast live on FloCollege.

OPENING SERVE:
- Charleston enters league play with a CAA-best 8-2 record. CofC has won eight straight matches and have lost just four sets during the streak.
- CofC won the 2026 Steve Baumrind Invitational at TD Arena, beating Duquesne, Northern Kentucky and Notre Dame.
- The Cougars swept the Fighting Irish, the first home sweep of a Power 4 program since Sept. 5, 2005, against South Carolina.
- Freshman Julie Nzambele and sophomore Caroline Noonan were named CAA Rookie and Offensive Player of the Week, respectively.
- Noonan enters the weekend sixth in the country with a .490 attacking percentage.
- Junior Helena Vukovic recorded her first career double-double versus Northern Kentucky, posting 39 assists, 12 digs, 4 kills, 4 blocks and 6 aces.
- Vukovic ranks 26th nationally with 0.60 aces per set and leads the CAA with 9.10 assists per frame.
- During the eight-match winning streak, Charleston is hitting .310 while holding opponents to a .153 attack percentage. The Cougars are also averaging 13.43 kills per set, 13.46 digs per set, 2.00 aces per set and 2.43 blocks per set.
SCOUTING ELON:
- Elon enters conference play with a 3-7 record, having beaten Old Dominion and Robert Morris on the road before defeating USC Upstate at home Sept. 12.
- Matt Troy is in his second season as head coach, posting a 10-27 record in that span.
SERIES HISTORY:
- Charleston is 37-5 in the series with Elon that dates to 1989. The Cougars are 16-1 as the visitors. CofC has won the last six matches, with five of those coming in four sets.
UP NEXT:
- Charleston hosts Towson in the second weekend of conference play Sept. 25-26 at TD Arena. Opening serves are set for 6 p.m. and 2 p.m. with the matches airing live on FloCollege.
