ELON, N.C. – College of Charleston won its 10th straight victory with a sweep of Elon (25-21, 25-21, 26-24) Sunday afternoon at the Schar Center.

CofC is the first team in the Coastal Athletic Association to 10 wins, improving to 10-2 overall and 2-0 in the conference. Elon slides to 3-9 and 0-2 to start league play.

CRITICAL POINTS AGAINST ELON:

Charleston trailed in all three sets, storming back to earn the sweep.
Sophomore Makena Parthen and senior Gabby Tuiaana each had 8 blocks in the victory.
Tuiaana also hit .350 with 11 kills for Charleston while sophomore Caroline Noonan hit .389 with 10 kills.
Defensively, sophomore Jumana Martin had 19 digs.
Junior Helena Vukovic recorded 7 digs and 4 service aces while dishing out 31 assists.
CofC had 7 service aces Sunday.
The Cougars held the Phoenix to a .140 attacking percentage and .129 for the entire weekend.

OF NOTE:

Charleston is now 39-5 overall versus Elon and 22-0 in three-set matches. CofC is also 18-1 as the road team.
CofC is now 9-0 in the month of September. Seven of those victories have come as sweeps.
Tuiaana tied her career mark with the 8 blocks Sunday.
Vukovic had 7 aces over the weekend and now has at least 3 aces in a match six times.
Charleston has five-plus aces in nine of the 12 matches.
Charleston's last 10-match winning streak came Sept. 13, 2024, to Oct. 19, 2024.
