CHARLESTON, S.C. – College of Charleston won its 11th straight match with a sweep over Towson (25-23, 25-13, 25-19) Friday at TD Arena.

Charleston improves to a league-best 11-2 overall and 3-0 in the CAA while the Tigers slide to 8-4 and 2-1 in league play.

CRITICAL POINTS AGAINST TOWSON:

Trailing 17-16 in the opening set, Charleston went on a 5-1 to take a 21-18 advantage.
CofC hit .242 in the first set before attacking at a .367 clip in set two.
Senior Gabby Tuiaana had a match-best 11 kills for the Cougars, hitting .320.
Sophomore Caroline Noonan had a .556 attacking percentage in the victory with 10 kills and 3 blocks.
Defensively, sophomore Jumana Martin collected 12 digs to pair with 8 assists and 3 service aces.
CofC held Towson to a .156 hitting percentage Friday.
Sophomore Julia Gnida also had 3 aces for the Cougars, who had 7 total in the win.
Second year Makena Parthen tallied 5 kills and 9 attempts for a .556 hitting percentage.

OF NOTE:

Charleston improves to 15-10 overall versus Towson and 5-5 in straight set matches.
The Cougars have won the last three home contests against the Tigers.
CofC has at least 5 aces in 10 contests this season.
Charleston's 11 match winning streak is the longest since 2017, when it won 15 straight contests.
Martin surpassed 50 career service aces Friday.
Noonan eclipsed 150 career blocks in the win.
Charleston will have its best winning percentage in the month of September since it posted an .833 clip (10-2) in 2018.
