CHARLESTON, S.C. – College of Charleston recorded its second straight sweep, defeating Charleston Southern (25-10, 25-22, 25-22) Friday afternoon at McAlister Field House in the second match of the Lowcountry Volleyball Championship.

The Cougars hit .442 as a squad and committed just 5 attack errors in the match.

Sophomores Julia Gnida and Caroline Noonan each had 10 kills with Gnida hitting .455 and Noonan connecting on a whopping .643.

CRITICAL POINTS AGAINST CHARLESTON SOUTHERN:

Charleston once again opened the match with 6 service aces in the opening set.
The Cougars recorded 17 kills in set two, hitting .441 in the frame.
CofC closed out the match with 16 kills and a .406 attack percentage.
Five different Cougars had kills in the victory with each tallying at least seven.
Junior Helena Vukovic tied her season high with 37 assists and added 7 digs defensively.
Freshman Julie Nzambele hit .438 with 7 kills while sophomore Makena Parthen hit .700 with 8 kills.

OF NOTE:

Charleston is now 41-8 in the all-time series with Charleston Southern.
The Cougars have won 20 of the last 22 meetings.
30 of the 41 wins have been by straight sets.
Charleston recorded back-to-back matches with double-digit service aces for the first time since 2010.
The 5 attack errors are the fewest in a match since CofC had just 5 Sept. 28, 2024, versus Campbell.
