Beginning his first season as a student assistant coach is former College of Charleston catcher Austin Morgan.
Morgan will work with Charleston's catchers and assistant with hitting instruction.
Morgan played in 114 games for the Cougars over the past two seasons. The Cougars averaged 37 wins over his two campaigns behind the dish.
Morgan helped Charleston to a 35-22 record in Monte Lee's first season as head coach last spring. He played in 57 games, making 56 starting assignments. He hit .292 with five homers and 45 runs batted in. He hit .327 with four homers and 30 RBI in 30 Southern Conference contests.
He hit .301 with three homers and 37 RBI as a junior while helping Charleston to a 39-20 record. He scored 43 runs, had 14 doubles and one triple. He hit .397 with runners in scoring position.
Morgan was born on April 20, 1987 in Jonesboro, Arkansas. He is majoring in Business Administration.
