Jeff McInnis

Jeff McInnis enters his second season as an assistant coach for the Cougars in 2025-2026. The former NBA draft pick Jeff McInnis joined Chris Mack's inaugural staff as an assistant coach for the 2024-25 season, helping guide the program to a 24-9 overall record and an appearance in the CAA semifinals. McInnis spent time with the Denver Nuggets, Washington Wizards, Los Angeles Clippers, Portland Trailblazers, Cleveland Cavaliers, New Jersey Nets, and Charlotte Bobcats throughout his 11-year playing career.

“Jeff McInnis is a winner. His love of the game and development of his players over the years in the city of Charlotte is well known. He was certainly an incredible player, playing for the legendary Dean Smith at the University of North Carolina and parlaying that success to a long NBA career,” said Mack.

McInnis is the founder of the Team Charlotte AAU organization. He played for the University of North Carolina from 1993-96, becoming a two-time All-ACC selection and reaching one Final Four.

“Many of our players have professional basketball aspirations and Jeff is an incredible resource for them. He has a bright mind for the game and will be counted on in many ways with his X’s and O’s knowledge. Jeff’s coaching on the grassroots level has always been intense, passionate, and about the development of his players. We are ecstatic to add Jeff to our first staff at Charleston.”
