Ian Barrows

Ian Barrows enters his first season as an assistant coach on Conner Blouin's staff.

Barrows earned bronze in the men's skiff event at the 2024 Paris Olympics, entering the Summer Games ranked second in the world with partner Hans Henken after the duo finished in second place at the 2022 Princesa Sofia World Sailing World Cup.
 
He finished second in the 2020 United States Olympic Trials to narrowly miss qualifying for the Tokyo Olympics.
 
"We are so excited to have Ian join our staff," said Blouin. "His numerous accomplishments speak for themselves, and we are excited to add his expertise and pedigree to our staff."
 
Barrows graduated from Yale in 2017 after a decorated career where he was named the 2017 College Sailor of the Year, a four-time collegiate All-American and a member of five national championships with the Bulldogs. Barrows won his College Sailor of the Year honor in Charleson.
 
Barrows hails from St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, where he acquired his passion for sailing and began competing internationally at a young age.
 
His youth sailing career was full of achievements, highlighted by a gold medal at the 2018 Youth Olympic Games in Singapore. He won multiple national titles including the 2014 and 2015 FJ and 420 National Championships, and 2014, 2015, 2016 420 and FJ Team Racing National Championships. He also received second place finishes in the 2010 Byte World Championship and the 2008 Opti World Championship.
