2015: Played and started in four games, recording 16 saves and allowing only four goals in 348:15 minutes of action. Played 87:15 minutes of shutout soccer against Winthrop on Sept. 4.
2014: Started nine games and played a total of 874:41 minutes. He allowed 17 goals for an average of 1.75 goals per game. Recorded a season-high seven saves on Oct. 25 against Delaware.
2013: Made eight appearances in goal and nine starts on the year… spent 789 minutes between the pipes and maintained a 1.26 goals-against average on the year… made 38 saves with a .776 save percentage… made a season-high seven saves against Delaware on Oct. 13… produced back-to-back six-save performances against UNC Wilmington and Winthrop.
2012: Entered the game late in CofC’s 4-2 win over Winthrop on Sept. 19.
Before Charleston: Plays his high school soccer with Greenville High School... named all-region three years and led the Raiders to be region champions in 2008 and 2009... helped guide his club team, CESA 92 Premier, to the 2009 Region III Championship and a third-place finish at USYSA Nationals... also played an integral role in helping his club team capture two South Carolina State Cup titles, two Disney Showcase championships and the Blue Chip (Ohio) Showcase Championship.
Personal: Full name is James Alexander Young... son of Jay and Marcela Young... born September 3, 1992... one of three children, siblings' names are Erica and Dani... lists his favorite athlete as Lionel Messi.
