Carlie Heineman was promoted to assistant coach in April 2021 after serving as the director of women's basketball operations the past two seasons.

Heineman previously worked with Robin Harmony, Randy Schneider and Cameron Miles as a graduate assistant at Lamar for the 2018-19 campaign. She was part of a staff that led the Cardinals to a 24-7 record and berth in the WNIT.  
 
Heineman played four seasons at the University of Texas-San Antonio (UTSA) and was a starter her final two seasons. She averaged 7.3 points, 2.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists a game while shooting just over 35% from beyond the arc. Her 192 career three-pointers, including 69 her senior season, rank second in Roadrunner history. Heineman was named to the C-USA Commissioner's Honor Roll and earned the league's academic medal all four years.
 
A native of San Antonio, Texas, Heineman earned her bachelor’s degree in English from UTSA in May 2017 and began pursuing her master’s degree in English in her senior season. She finished her MA in English while serving as a graduate assistant at Lamar.
