2016 (Sophomore): Played 1309 minutes in 19 games for the Cougars, drawing the start in 17 games ... Finished the year with seven goals, which tied her for the team-high, while adding two assists for 16 points on the season ... Had a pair of two-goal games on the season, doing so against Charleston Southern and Delaware ... Responsible for scoring a team-high four game winners on the year (CSU, STET, RAD, @Del) ... Logged three games of at least 90 minutes played ... Finished the year with 64 shots (34 SOG)
2015 (Freshman): Named to the CAA All-Rookie Team… Played in, and started, all 18 games for the Cougars in 2015… Played 1444 minutes, the fourth highest total on the team… Tied for the team lead with five goals, all of which were game-winners… Lead the Cougars with 50 shots, and 21 shots on goal… Also went 1-1 on penalty kicks… Named the CAA Player, and Rookie, of the week for the week of Sept. 21-28, and was named the CAA Rookie of the Week for the week of Aug. 24-31.
Before Charleston: Collected nine varsity letters at South Aiken High School and led the team to a state championship her junior year and regional championships her freshman and sophomore years … named to the All-State and All-region teams her freshman-junior years and was team captain her junior year … beat her school’s record for most career goals as a junior and was the first player in South Aiken history to score over 100 goals … named the Aiken County Top Player her sophomore and junior years and was one of the top five players as a freshman … led her team in goals and assists as a sophomore and junior.
Personal: Was a member of Younglife, FCA, Student Council, National Honor Society, varsity basketball, varsity swimming and all-A Honor Roll during high school.
Michner on Schifer: "Jessica is a goal-scoring machine. She is one of the top players in the state of South Carolina and has led the Region 3 Premier League in scoring for the past 4 years. She has all the tools to be an amazing collegiate player. Jessica will make a major impact for our program right away as a forward and has the size and strength necessary to handle the physicality of CAA soccer. She’s got technical ability and the pace to get behind a defense. Jessica can score in many ways on the soccer field. She is also an amazing student and will be studying in the Honors College at CofC. She is a tremendous addition to our program."
Coach Tomasz Kluszczynski – SC United FC (SCUFC): “Jessie is a very talented, coachable, and extremely motivated player. She is one of the most prolific strikers in the Southeast, and one if not the most clinical forward I have ever been around in my years of coaching. She has averaged over a goal per game in the past 5 years playing for me and was one of the most feared goal scorers in the league. Her work rate is second to none and her vision to find open teammates is fantastic. CoC is getting a very dependable and team oriented player, but most important a fantastic young lady. I wish her all the best and looking forward to see her grow and excel her game even further as a Cougar!”
