Lizzy Lesley is in her eighth year at College of Charleston and serves as Assistant Athletic Director for Student-Athlete Academic Services. Lesley was elevated to that position in July of 2021 and serves as the athletic department's primary academic leader. In that role, she hires, manages and evaluates a team of academic advisors, an academic coordinator and a student workforce to enhance the student-athlete academic experience.
Lesley earned her undergraduate degree in special education with a concentration in hearing and speech communication disorders from Ohio University. She earned her master's degree at the College of Charleston in teaching and learning advocacy as well as an ESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) Certification through College of Charleston. Lesley was also a recognized presenter at both the University South Carolina Drive in Conference in February of 2019 and the South Carolina Athletic Trainer's Association Annual Symposium in July of 2018.
Originally from Waterville, Ohio, Lesley moved to the South in 2013 and spent her first four years as a special education teacher in the Charleston area. She resides in Johns Island with her husband John Scott Lesley, daughter Maize, son Tate and dog Pearl.
In her spare time, you can find her at sporting events around the area, at the beach or enjoying the amazing restaurants Charleston has to offer.
