Derek Davis currently serves ats the Assistant Athletic Director of Development at the Charleston Athletic Fund.
He joined the Athletic Fund staff in 2013 as an Assistant Director. He was promoted to Director of Development in 2017 and moved to his current role in August of 2021.
Davis is responsible for the strategic management and day to day operational oversight of the CAF, including the Cougar Club Annual Fund, which has seen a 75% increase in donations during his as Assistant Athletic Director of Development. He has also played a pivotal role in the organization’s success and growth in the areas of Major Giving, Sport Specific Donations, and Special Event fundraisers.
In addition, he manages all Premium Seating, Parking, Hospitality, and Benefit Fulfillment programs utilized by the Charleston Athletic Fund annually.
Prior to CofC, he served as an intern in The Wolfpack Club at his alma mater NC State. There, Davis assisted with the Club’s capital campaigns, donor management systems, and special events.
He is a 2009 graduate of NC State and earned his bachelor’s degree in Sport Management. Davis currently resides on Johns Island with his wife (Julie) and daughter (Caelyn).
