Charleston scored an own goal at the 72:48 mark, giving Rutgers the victory. Rutgers outshot the Cougars 8-7, while Charleston's goalkeeper tallied four saves. The Scarlet Knights improve to 9-2-2, while College of Charleston drops to 2-7-1.

The second day of the Gamecock Soccer Classic begins Sunday, Oct. 21 at 11:00 a.m. when College of Charleston takes on Maryland . No. 11 South Carolina will host No. 8 Rutgers in the second match of the day. Kickoff is slated for 1:30.
