The teams played a scoreless first half, with ll shots from College of Charleston and four from Wofford. The teams' best scoring chance came at the 20:40 mark, when the Cougars' Ricardo diaz Granados made a shot that ricocheted off the Wofford goalpost.
The deadlock remained for nearly 25 minutes of the second half, until the 69-minute mark. At 69:39, Gaskins drew Wofford keeper Eric Williams away from the ball, then hit a goal from 15 yards out. Ten minutes later, Files made it 2-0 with a second goal.
On the evening, Charleston outshot Wofford, 22-10. Cougar keeper Wes Martino had four saves in the shutout win. Williams came up with five saves in 71 minutes in goal for Wofford, while Zach Vogt made two saves in 29 minutes.
With the win, the Cougars improve to 3-8-1 on the season, and an even 3-3-0 in Southern Conference play. The Terriers fall to 4-9-1, 1-4-1.
