The Cougars dropped to 4-10-1 on the season while Coastal Carolina improved to 7-6-1. The College of Charleston suffered the loss despite outshooting Coastal Carolina 19-16.
CofC returns to action on November 9, in its regular finale at Patriots Point versus Southern Conference foe VMI.
In Saturday's night cap, Elon got goals from five different players as the Phoenix cruised to a 5-1 win over The Citadel.
The Phoenix, 7-9-0, opened the scoring when Paul Bellaqua hammered home a pass from Robert Latimer less than three minutes into the match. Trailing 2-0 at the half, Citadel scored its only goal of the match when Cody Bragg found the back of the net at 68:47.
Elon added goals by Robert Latimer, Stuart Reid and Kyle Edwards in the last twenty minutes for the final margin. The Citadel, 0-14-0 on the season, was outshot by Elon 29-17.
