Charleston improved to 5-4-1 overall and 1-1-0 in league play. The Spartans fell to 5-4-0 and 0-2-0.
Charleston grabbed the lead just 4:49 into the match when Myers scored his fourth goal of the season for a 1-0 CofC advantage.
Myers made it 2-0 with 25:34 left in the opening half when he found the back of the net from about 15 yards out off a pass from Ricardo Diaz Granados.
Marc Gaskins scored off an assist from Ben Hollingsworth to stretch Charleston's lead to 3-0 with 10:43 left in the first half.
UNCG's Cliff Patterson cut the margin to 3-1 at the 50:44 mark off an assist from Chris Goos.
Beckstead scored at the 57:14 mark off a deflection after Myers' shot was knocked away by UNCG goalie Charlie DeMello for a 4-1 lead.
Goos scored on a penalty kick goal for UNCG at the 74:26 mark cutting the margin to 4-2.
Both teams are in action again on Tuesday, October 8th. The Cougars play host to league member Georgia Southern at 6:00, while UNC Greensboro plays at Virginia Tech at 7:00.
