The Cougars scored the game's first goal when Daniel Azcarate's shot near the end of the first half, at the 42:04 mark, sailed into the net. It was Azcarate's first goal of the season.
After taking a 1-0 lead into halftime, the Cougars scored scored two more goals in the second half. In the 59th minute, Ricardo Diaz Granados gave the Cougars a 2-0 lead when his shot hit the back of the net. Granados' goal gives him a total of three on the year.
Closing out the scoring for the Cougars was Tony Myers who also scored his third goal of the season in the 76th minute, giving the Cougars a 3-0 lead which would turn out to be the final score.
Goalie Keith Wiggins played the entire game and recorded the shutout with three saves. The Cougars outshot TCU 16-8 and led TCU 11-3 in corner kicks.
With the win, the Cougars improve their record to 4-4-1.
Up next for College of Charleston is a home game against Southern Conference foe UNC Greensboro on Tuesday, Oct. 1 at Patriots Point Field at 6:00pm.
