UCF (1-2-1) opened the scoring with 11:30 left in the opening half when Tobias Kronberger scored off an assist from Billy Judino.
Charleston (2-1-1) tied it when Tony Myers took a pass from Turner Walters and scored with 25:22 left in the second half.
Myers second goal came on assist from Ben Hollingsworth with 8:07 left in the match. It was Charleston's second overtime win in the tournament. The Cougars edged Georgia State, 2-1, on Saturday. The Cougars outshot the Golden Knights 20-8.
With his performance Myers, a sophomore from McClellanville, S.C., earned the Hertz, Magel, McKay Award for being the touranament's most valuable player.
The Cougars are in action again next weekend when they compete in the University of South Carolina Classic at Stone Stadium. The Cougars take on nationally-ranked Washington at 5:00 p.m. on Friday (Sept. 13) and New Hampshire on Sunday at 11:00 a.m
In the opener, Bruce Holt, Paul Schwak, Ryan Carroll and Chad Wainwrigt scored goals as Georgia State blanked The Citadel (0-3-0).
Georgia State (2-1-0) opened the scoring just 31 seconds into the contest when Holt found the back of the net off assists from Justin Towns and Jordan Davis from about 15 yards out for a 1-0 lead.
Schwak stretched the GSU lead to 2-0 with 24:09 left in the match when he scored off assists from Jason Rivers and Davis. Goals by Ryan Carroll and Chad Wainwright in the final 17 minutes gave the Panthers a 4-0 and closed the scoring.
The Panthers held a 24-1 advantage in shots, including 12-0 in the first half.
