Furman's record goes to 7-4-2 and 4-0-1 in the SoCon, while the tie makes Charleston's record 6-5-1 and 3-3-1 in the league.
Shots were fairly even in the first half with the Paldins holding the 3-2 edge. The second half saw Furman shut-out Charleston 6-0 in shots. The Cougars fought back in overtime, coming away with the 5-2 shots advantage. The final game total was 12-7 in favor of the Paladins.
Charleston's Alice Keeney had four saves while Andi Hinshaw of Furman had one. Furman's Danielle Petro and Nicky Darling led with four shots each, while Carolyn Morris led the Cougar effort with two shots.
Charleston hosts Winthrop in its next match Oct. 15th at Patriots Point. Game time is set for 7:00 PM. Furman hosts Chattanooga Oct. 12th at 2:00 PM in Greenville, SC.
