#articleRelated { display: none !important; } Kyle Palmquist finished 10th to pace the College of Charleston women's cross country team to seventh at the William & Mary Tribe Open held this weekend in Williamsburg, Va. Virginia won the event with host school William & Mary placing second. The men's team also ran in the meet but did not compete for team scoring.

Palmquist finished the 6,000 meter run with a time of 22:56.08, just over a minute off the lead. Kathryn Boettcher finished 40th with a 24:12.75 time, while Becky Witkop placed 45th with a time of 24:27.56. Running 47th was Elizabeth Rose with a 24:30.98 mark and in 51st was Kelly Sandler with her 24:39.96 time. Placing 62nd was Meredith Craig with her 25:49.11 and rounding out the Cougar effort was 64th-place Kimberly Kingston with her time of 25:59.67.

John Gillum led the Cougar contingent with his 35th-place in the 8,000 meter run. He timed in at 27:02.28. Placing 47th was Aubrey Florence with his time of 27:31.70 and coming in at 70th was Jonathan Atkinson with a time of 28:50.15. Nathan Bergeron finished 71st with a 28:57.49, George Tozer placed 81st with a 29:35.64 mark and Joseph O'Neil finished right behind in 82nd with a 29:39.15 mark. Rounding out the Cougars was Michel O'Neil and Rich Timmons, who finished 87th and 96th, respectively with time of 30:23.44 and 31:17.62

The cross country team will gear up next for the Southern Conference Championships being held Nov. 1st at Davidson, NC. Davidson is the host school this year.
