#articleRelated { display: none !important; } Kristin Rhyne and Brennan McCord led the College of Charleston women's soccer team with two goals apiece as the Cougars defeated the South Carolina State Bulldogs, 9-0, in action this afternoon at Patriots Point in Mt. Pleasant, SC.

The College of Charleston improves to 2-1 overall, while South Carolina State drops its second to fall to 0-2 on the year.

Annie Clauss scored the Cougars' first goal off an assist by Claire Wigfall at the 2:01 mark. Rhyne's first goal came next at 10:44 off the Abi Nicholas assist. Sydney Strong brought in the third goal while McCord's goal, the team's fourth, rounded out the first half.

Teryn Schuetz opened the half with a goal at 48:47 and a minute later Rhyne took home her second goal off the Schuetz assist. McCord added her second goal next at the 51:47 mark. Crystal Petroccoro netted hers at 59:31 and the last goal of the game came from Tessa Morrell at 64:37 off the Amy Byrd assist.

The Cougars out-shot the Bulldogs 26-2 and led in corner kicks, 12-0.

The College of Charleston hosts The Citadel Saturday, Sept. 6th, at 7:00 PM, while SC State travels to Coastal Carolina Sunday Sept. 7th, at 2:00 PM.
