The Cougars go to 4-4-3 overall and 2-2-2 in the SoCon, while the Bucs go to 3-4-3 and 0-1-3.
The College of Charleston blasted a total of 18 shots in regulation but 11 saves by Buc goalkeeper Sarah Prendergast during that same time kept the Cougars off the board. ETSU was held to just one shot in the first half, but had four in the second to stage its offensive effort. The Cougars, who had nine shots in the first half and nine in the second, only had three more in the overtime periods. ETSU just tallied on more shot during the extra periods.
For the contest Charleston held the 21-6 advantage in shots but ETSU ended with the 13-4 tip in saves.
Kristin Rhyne dominated the Cougar offensive with seven shots on the night with Nicole Blume following with three. For the Bucs it was Erin Ashton who led with three shots.
An ETSU injury with 1:18 left in the second overtime delayed the contest for 25 minutes.
The Cougars are next in action when they travel to Elon Oct 10th for a 1:00 PM contest.
