Schindelholz took a lob pass on the right side of the box and beat Furman goalkeeper Alex Maslow with a shot to the left post at the 90:48 mark to give the Cougars, 8-4-0 overall, their third Southern Conference win in as many tries.
Charleston took the early lead in the match when Schindelholz headed in a cross from Troy Lesesne at the 14:02 mark. Lesesne crossed the ball into the box from the left side and found Schindelholz 10 yards from net for the header.
After being denied on a breakaway by Richard Jata and a driving shot by Josh Villalobos in the second half, Furman's Luke Barbour headed home the tying goal off of a pass from Nick LeBlanc at 82:58. Jata took a free kick that was sent into the box and flicked across to the far post by LeBlanc for Barbour's first goal of the season.
Keith Wiggans recorded three saves in goal for Charleston, while Maslow tallied six saves for the Paladins.
Furman held a 20-14 edge in shots taken and a 9-5 advantage in corner kicks.
The loss drops the Paladins to 4-5-1 overall and 1-2-0 in Southern Conference play. Furman returns to action on Wednesday when it travels to Georgia Southern. The Cougars host the Wofford Terriers Tuesday Oct. 12th at 6:00 PM at Patriots Point.
