#articleRelated { display: none !important; } Rachel Magory won at number one singles but the College of Charleston women's tennis team fell to South Carolina 6-1 at Patriots Point Tennis Complex. The Gamecocks won all three doubles matches and five of the six singles matches.

Danielle Wiggins and Laura Ganzer downed Gabriela Moreira and Maxine Capewell in number one doubles 8-3. Magory got the Cougars point by downing Wiggins 6-7, 6-2, 1-0 in number one singles.

"We played well in spots" said Cougar head coach Angelo Anastopoulo. "It was great competition to get us ready for tough Southern Conference action including Saturday versus UNC Greensboro. It was our first loss in our new facility but we hope to use the negative as positive motivation."

The Cougars fall to 7-5 on the season and host UNC Greensboro at 10:00 on Saturday at Patriots Point. South Carolina improves to 8-4 for the season and next host #15 Harvard on March 15.
