Neither team scored in the first half, but just five minutes into the second half at 50:50, FAU's Susanna Lehtinen used the Christina Chang assist to put the Owls ahead 1-0. Cougar Nicole Blume was fouled at 74:42 inside the FAU box to give Charleston the penalty kick, which Blume convert to tie the contest.
It looked as though the two teams would go into overtime but Florida Atlantic converted its first corner kick of the game at 89:36 into a goal as Brolly's balled took the right curve into the back left of the net for the game-winner.
Charleston drops to 2-2-1 overall, while FAU goes to 2-1.
The Cougars out-shot the Owls, 10-8, with FAU coming away with the 7-4 edge in saves. Charleston's Kristin Rhyne led the team with three shots on the night, while Katri Nokso-Koivisto and Susanna Lehtinen led the Owls with two shots apiece.
Florida Atlantic will play American Sunday at 11:00 AM, while the Cougars take on Robert Morris at 2:30 PM to continue tournament action.
