The Cougars improve to 9-7-2 overall and 4-3-0 in the Southern Conference, while Elon falls to 7-8-2 and 3-2-1.
Rondell Honora scored his third goal of the year and second game-winner at 77:53 off the assist by Gold and Miles Alden-Dunn. In the second goal the Phoenix emptied the net and sent the goalkeeper to midfield. Gold broke away with the ball and with 12 second left dribbled the ball into the empty net.
Kiki Willis led Elon with three shots, while Honora paced the Cougars with three shots as well. Charleston and Elon both had 10 shots on the night and five saves apiece.
Charleston is off until the Southern Conference Tournament. First round games are set for Nov. 5th. The Cougars await word on whether they will host or not. Elon hosts UNC Greensboro Nov. 2nd in a 7:00 PM match for its final regular-season match.
