"We're looking forward to some great performances this weekend," said head coach Amy Schuckert. "This will be an opportunity for us to gain much needed race experience as well as grow in a positive direction for the future."
The Cougars will be led by senior Kosha Lance, who finished first in the weight throw at last year's indoor championships in Johnson City, Tenn. Lance was the first Cougar track and field athlete to win a SoCon title. Lance holds the school record in both the weight throw and the shot put.
Also leading the Cougars will be Summer Chambless and Ashley Arnold. Chambless, a freshman from Heflin, Ala., recently broke the CofC record in the pole vault with a vault of 10-00.00 at the Clemson Invitational earlier this year. Arnold placed second earlier this year in the 5k at the Niswonger Invitational in Johnson City.
A year ago, Charleston finished sixth in the SoCon Indoor Championships.
