The College of Charleston men's tennis team picked up all but one singles wins to take the 6-1 victory over the Appalachian State Mountaineers this afternoon at the tennis center at Patriots Point in Mt. Pleasant, SC.
The Cougars improve to 6-2 overall and 3-1 in the SoCon, while the Mountaineers fall to 2-7 and 0-2 in the league.
Charleston opened the match by winning the three doubles by scores of 8-3, 8-4 and 8-6 to earn the point
The Cougars used victories by Timo Siebert, Bastian Moldhenke, Justin Malina, Liran Kling and Philipp Koller in singles play to clinch the match. Appalachian State's Andres Taylor was the lone victor for his team, taking the 6-3, 7-5 win over Cougar Perry Allen.
The College of Charleston hosts Lafayette Monday the 14th at 2:00 PM, while the Mountaineers travel to UNC Asheville to take on the Bulldogs Mar. 16th at 2:00 PM.
