#articleRelated { display: none !important; } Ashley Arnold and Kosha Lance each earned second place finishes on the first day at the UNC Wilmington track and field meet in Wilmington, N.C. on Friday. As a team, CofC is currently in fifth place with 29 team points.

Arnold, a freshman from Lexington, Ky., finished second in the 1500 meter run after posting a time of 4:50.60. Arnold finished second behind Shannon McConville of John Carroll, who ran a time of 4:45.69.

Lance took second place in the hammer throw after throwing for a distance of 50.89 meters. Lance's distance was just short of first place finisher Nicole Downing of Robert Morris, who won the event with a throw of 53.62 meters.

Sarah Finnegan finished fourth in the 200 meter dash, posting a time of 26.89 and Cassandra Yarborough earned a fifth place finish in the 100 meter dash with a time of 12.87.

Jennifer Dooley was fifth in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:25.89.

The final day of the meet will begin tomorrow morning at 10:00am.
