Dominique Boone earned her first top finish of the year in the high jump with a height of 5-00.00. Boone beat out second place finisher Kelly Petersfield, of The Citadel, who had a jump of 4-08.00. Boone also finished second in the triple jump with a season best jump of 36-03.50.
Ashley Arnold and Summer Chambless also grabbed first place finishes in the invitational. Arnold finished first in the 5k with a time of 18:32.60 while Chambless was first in the pole vault with a height of 9-00.00.
Asia Reuwer, Trina Taylor and Carla Washington each took second in their events. Reuwer was second in the hammer throw with a toss of 100-11. Taylor's time of 28.34 gave her second in the 200 meter dash while Washington posted a season best 1:02.29 in the 400 meter dash. Washington's previous best was 1:04.35 in the SoCon Indoors.
The Cougars will be back in action next weekend when they travel to Conway, S.C. to compete in the Coastal Carolina Invitational on Saturday.
