#articleRelated { display: none !important; } The College of Charleston men?s tennis team survived blistery weather conditions and Davidson for a 5-2 conference win. The Cougars (9-6, 5-3 SoCon) have now defeated Davidson (10-9, 3-3) in each of the last four
seasons.

Solid doubles play at the second and third spots earned Davidson an early 1-0 lead. Junior Daniel Bermeo and sophomore John Bolton teamed up for an 8-1 victory at second doubles while junior Joe Cheaney and freshman Flaviu Simihaian prevailed at third doubles, 8-4.

Five of the six singles matches were closely contested with Charleston winning a trio of three-set thrillers. CofC?s Mike Reynolds clinched the team triumph by holding off senior Russ Burns in the number five match, 7 5, 6-7, 6-3. Elsewhere, Justin Malina (#2) fought off some match points in the third set before outlasting Simihaian in a tie-breaker, 7-4.

Davidson is next in action on Friday, April 8, in a home match against Boston College. Match time is scheduled for 2 p.m. The Cougars are right back in action tomorrow, April 3, at UNC Greensboro with a starting time of
high noon.
