CofC Heads to Florida, NCAA Tournament

For the third straight year, the College of Charleston volleyball team will play in the 64-field NCAA Women's Volleyball Championship.
College of Charleston will play Arizona State (15-14) at 5 p.m. at the Stephen O'Connell Center at the University of Florida in Gainesville, Fla., on Nov. 30. This will be the first meeting between the schools.
The Cougars (27-7) defeated UNC Greensboro 3-1 in the Southern Conference volleyball title match to win its third straight tournament title last Sunday in Boone, N.C. Last year, College of Charleston became the first SoCon team to win a match in the NCAA tournament, when the Cougars defeated North Carolina 3-1 in Chapel Hill, N.C., before losing in the second round to then-No. 21 Purdue 3-0. This will be Charleston's fourth appearance in the tournament.
The Devils, who will make their first tournament appearance since 2002, clinched a winning regular season and a shot at the tournament when they swept Arizona on Friday night in Tempe, Ariz. They finished tied for sixth with Oregon in the Pac-10.
The College of Charleston-Arizona State winner will play the winner of the Florida-Florida A&M match on Friday for the right to advance to the Gainesville regional Dec. 8-9.
Fans can order tickets to the event beginning on Monday by calling the Gator Ticket Office at 800-34-GATOR.
