Lance Sets New SoCon Record At Tiger Invitational

Kosha Lance set a new Southern Conference Track & Field record in the weight throw as she recorded a distance of 61 feet, two and one-quarter inches Saturday at the Tiger Invitational hosted by Clemson.
Lance's mark of 61-02.25 surpasses her own personal best as well as the current SoCon record of 60 feet, one and one-quarter inches, a difference of one foot, one inch.
Both Dominique Boone and Summer Chambless tied CofC school records as Boone earned a mark of five feet and one-quarter inches in the high jump and Chambless earned a height of 10 feet six inches in the pole vault.
"The girls have worked really hard the past couple of weeks and today shows it," said Assistant Coach Adrian Wheatley. "We have done a lot to put us in a good position in the upcoming weeks."
Wells Trompeter had a top 15 finish as she took home 11th in the mile run with a time of 5:18.37. Katie Hedley and Ashley Arnold also had good days as the pair finished fifth and seventh respectively in the 5000 meter run.
The Cougars will be back in action in two weeks when they head back to Clemson to the SoCon Indoor Track & Field Championships which will be held February 24-25.
