Cougars Remain Unbeaten in SoCon Play with 6-1 Win

The College of Charleston men's tennis team took five of six singles matches and the doubles point to earn the 6-1 win over the Appalachian State Mountaineers this afternoon in Boone, N.C.

The Cougars win their 15th straight to go to 15-1 overall and remain perfect in the Southern Conference with a 6-0 mark. The Mountaineers fall to 7-6 and 0-4.

Charleston started the match by winning all three doubles matches to earn the doubles point before beginning singles play.

The Cougars won in straight sets at number one, two and three singles before ASU's Andrew Walters took Omer Abramovich to a third set tiebreaker at number four. Abramovich won the tiebreaker in a close 10-8 decision. The Mountaineers won at number five, but fell at number six as the Cougars came away with the 6-1 win.

Charleston continues its weekend road swing as it takes on East Tennessee State, Sunday, March 26th at 11:00 AM in Johnson CIty, Tenn. Appalachian State hosts High Point Monday, March 27th at 2:30.
