The College of Charleston men's team dropped four singles matches to lose 4-3 to Belmont in action this afternoon at the Tennis Center at Patriots Point in Mt. Pleasant, S.C.
The Cougars fall to 15-3 overall, having dropped their second straight, while the Bruins improve to 3-6 on the year.
Charleston opened the match by taking two of three doubles matches to go up 1-0 heading into singles play. The duo of Or Dekel and Marcus Digliodo defeated Javier Rodriguez and Fausto Rocha, 8-4, at number one and the team of MIke Reynolds and Jimmy Petit defeated Felipe Lima and Felipe Abreu, 8-3, at number two.
CofC was not as fortunate in singles play, dropping four for the 4-3 loss. Victorious for the Cougars was Or Dekel at number one, defeating Lima 6-1, 6-1. Justin Malina took Alex Gillott by default at number three.
Belmont is back in action Saturday, April 1st, when they travel up the road to Spartanburg, S.C. to take on the Wofford Terriers in a 3:30 PM match. The Cougars host The Citadel Tuesday, April 4th at 2:00 PM in their last home match of the year.
