
CofC Men's Soccer Announces Tentative Spring 2007 Exhibition Schedule

The College of Charleston men's soccer team has announced its' tentitive Spring 2007 exhibition schedule, which includes matches against two professional teams.
The Cougars will face United Soccer League (USL) First Division squad, the Charleston Battery, two times in the spring. The first match will be against Battery trial invitees on Feb. 3 and the second match will be against official Battery team members on Mar. 18, both at an undecided location.
CofC will then face two collegiate teams, Francis Marion and fellow SoCon member, Georgia Southern, on Feb. 24 at Patriots Point. The Cougars will then face a team consisting of CofC Alumni in the annual Alumni match at Patriots Point on Mar. 17.
The Cougars will face the reserves from Major League Soccer (MLS) team, the New York Red Bulls, at Patriots Point on Mar. 28. The Red Bulls will be in Charleston to participate in the 2007 Carolina Challenge Cup, which will take place from Mar. 24-31 at Blackbaud Stadium in Daniel Island. The Red Bulls are currently coached by former U.S. Men's National Team head coach Bruce Arena.
CofC finishes its spring schedule in Rock Hill, S.C. with matches against Colonial Athletic Conference member, UNC Wilmington, and Southeastern Conference squad, the University of South Carolina on March 31.
The times for all of the matches on the tentative schedule haven't been decided at this time.
